On
Tuesday, May 20th - we held our annual golf tournament at Pine Creek
Golf Course in Mt. Juliet. After a lot of work and so much
participation on behalf of the players and sponsors - we had another
successful event. This year we did a few things differently, the
most important one being - instead of having one benefactor, we had
two!
We
selected The Mt. Juliet Help Center and the Humane Association of
Wilson County to benefit from this years tournament - two very
worthy organizations here in Wilson County. In the past, our
selected organization would benefit from the tournament by the
Association presenting a check to them. That is still our
plan, however this year we wanted to do more. We wanted to do
something that would involve getting more people involved. Our plan
was introducing "Project Wish Box". Numerous boxes were placed at
participating business in Wilson County and for 2 months employees
and patrons of these businesses donated items to fill these boxes
with needed items to go to both of our benefactors - and these
business did not disappoint. After collecting the boxes and the
donations at the golf tournament - we were able to donate over 720
pounds of food to the Mt. Juliet Help and 2 truck loads of items to
the Humane Association. So, needless to say - this was a huge
success! Many thanks go to those who gave.
Many thanks
also go out to all of the players and sponsors of our tournament. It
is your participation that allows us, EMTAR, to present our
benefactors with a monetary gift. Our players are made up of
REALTORS, Lenders, Attorneys, Builders, friends, spouses, and many
other affiliates that make up our Association. Our tournament is
planned for two reasons; to give to a worthy cause and also provide
an event where all of us can come together and enjoy each others
company away from the normal day in day out stress of every day
business. We are able to put faces to names, along with making many
new acquaintances in our field of work.
The
EMTAR Annual Golf Tournament has grown in name recognition for being
one of the most fun and well planned tournaments in the area. Our
players enjoy a day of being catered too, from pulling up to bag
valet to enjoy the snacks and refreshments provided by the hole
sponsors . Many door prizes and contest awards are handed out at the
end of the day, while everyone finishes up dinner. It is truly a
FULL day.
