
The latter half of 2007 saw the addition of three more houses and three more families to Mimosa Court in Lebanon, TN. The 40th Habitat home in Wilson County was built for Kenya Stewart and her four children. Moving from overcrowded conditions in her parent's house, Kenya and the kids have enjoyed having more space. The children have loved being able to play outside. As the joy of getting her own home began to sink in, Kenya exclaimed at the closing of her house, "I just can't stop smiling!". RPAC is the political action committee of the Tennessee Association of REALTORS®, serving as our membership's voice in politics. Your RPAC funds are used to elect pro-REALTOR® candidates at the federal, state, and local levels.
In the 2006 election cycle, RPAC disbursed over $216,000 in direct contributions to state candidates, making RPAC the number one trade association PAC in Tennessee. On Election Day 2006, 99% of RPAC-supported candidates were successful.
RPAC helped to elect seven REALTORS® to the 105th General Assembly. They are Lt. Governor and Speaker of the Senate Ron Ramsey (R-Blountville), Sen. Tommy Kilby (D-Wartburg), Rep. Gerald McCormick (R-Chattanooga), Rep. Steve McDaniel (R-Parkers Crossroads), Rep. Curt Cobb (D-Shelbyville), and Rep. Randy Rinks (D-Savannah).
