For Immediate Release
From the Eastern Middle Tennessee Association of
Realtors – Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that
we have entered into a subscription with Bev
Spickard's our Register of Deeds for Wilson County.
This will allow our Realtor members to have access
to
www.WilsonDeeds.com website with the
association covering the cost of the service.
Your Board of Directors is very happy to announce it
has successfully negotiated a new FREE benefit for
our members. This new benefit may save you money
but if used, will definitely save you time and maybe
even frustration! It will even allow you to get
information on properties, including a plat,
restrictions, liens and other information from the
courthouse at 2 a.m. and you don’t even have to call
the listing agent! The information can be emailed
to others or used in Realtracs for others to see on
your listings.
If you have used this service, you already know how
beneficial this service is to your business.
Several of our members already subscribe to
www.WilsonDeeds.com at a cost of $25
or more PER MONTH. If you or your firm is a
subscriber, it is your responsibility to cancel your
subscription or it will continue with the monthly
changes due per your agreement.
In order to access this FREE service, you must be a
full Realtor member of EMTAR. Affiliate Members are
not eligible for this offer. Go to
www.WilsonDeeds.com and click
Apply to Search Deeds. Complete the form with
EMTAR and your firm name in the company
field. You will create a username and password and
agree to the terms. Submit the form and once
approved you will have full access to the
information. Information is easily read in a .pdf
format. The .tiff format is still available but is
not as easy to send via email to clients or print.
If you do not put EMTAR in the company field, you
will only have a temporary account until you pay for
the subscription.
Searching for information has a very short learning
curve. Most can even find information after signing
into the system. Training can be scheduled via Beth
at 615-443-2611. Bev Spickard's and his staff have
offered to provide training at your sales meetings
or in their office one to one.
Bev is an elected official that you will find most
days at the courthouse helping our members as well
as the public. He does not sit behind a desk but is
very active in ensuring that the courthouse is
friendly to all that enter. From providing
directions to the proper office needed, to
explaining what his office provides, Bev is an asset
to Wilson County residents.

Ethics Education Reminder & Clarification!
There is NO
“grandfathering” and there are
NO exemptions
for brokers or anyone else from the NAR ethics
education requirement!
Between January 1, 2005, and December 31, 2008,
every REALTOR in the nation must take an approved
3-hour ethics course in order to remain REALTORS,
i.e., members of the National Association of
REALTORS.
Far too many folks are confusing this ethics
education requirement with Continuing Education
requirements that many licensees must meet for
license renewal. This has NOTHING to do with
licensing! Instead, this ethics education mandate
applies to all REALTORS in the U.S. and determines
your continuing eligibility for membership in your
local, state, and national REALTOR organization.
Your local Association of REALTORS must certify your
completion of the required ethics education and can
inform you of opportunities — both classroom and
online courses — that you can take to satisfy this
requirement.
Even if you are exempt or grandfathered from taking
any CE courses, you STILL must take an ethics course
every four years!
