Committee Descriptions
AFFILLIATE COMMITEE
8 members in addition to Chair and Vice Chair
The committee determines ways to add value proposition to the Affiliate membership. The committee monitors and edits levels of benefits, recognition and marketing affiliates to the Realtor® membership.
AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE COMMITEE
10 members in addition to Chair and Vice Chair
This committee is responsible for the Annual Awards of Excellence Banquet, rules and regulations of the Awards Levels and applications. From time to time committee will identify necessary changes to levels and/or addition or deletion of new and old awards. The committee is responsible for making sure the Awards of Excellence Banquet is monetarily viable.
BROKER SERVICES COMMITTEE
6 members in addition to the Chair and Vice Chair
This committee provides informational and educational meetings to Managing Brokers to help in their productivity, efficiency and profitability. This committee tries to provide resources for Brokers in the every day industry challenges they face. The committee strives to provide information to Brokers in which they can disseminate and help their agents during sales meetings and training.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT COMMITTEE
14 members in addition to the Chair and Vice Chair
This committee believes that working relationships with our local community nonprofits and service-based organization helps to strengthen the neighborhoods in which we live, work and operate. It gives us and our partners the opportunity to come together from all different offices to bring positive change in the communities in which we serve. Throughout the year the committee host events that benefit various nonprofit organizations. The money raised is used to help positively impact our community.
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
6 members in addition to the Chair and Vice Chair
The Committee develops and maintains strong relationships with elected officials, monitors local ordinances and legislative actions affecting the real estate industry, and develops policy recommendations on behalf of the Association. The Committee will strive to identify and foster REALTOR® champions who could serve on local boards and/or commissions to help enhance the real estate industry and protect homeownership property rights. The Committee is responsible for educating the membership on the importance of involvement in the Legislative process.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
4 members in addition to the Chair and Vice Chair
The Membership Committee organizes and provides speakers/programs for quarterly membership meetings/luncheons. In addition, the committee identifies and organizes the information and education provided during new member orientation. The membership committee evaluates affinity services (new and old) in which the Eastern Middle TN Association provides to its membership.
RPAC COMMITTEE
8 members in addtion to the Chair and Vice Chair
The RPAC – Realtor Political Action Committee brings awareness and promotes the value of membership investments in RPAC. The committee promotes education regarding the purpose of RPAC in protecting the real estate industry and home ownership property rights. It holds investment events to meet annual fair share goals set by the NAR and Tn Realtors®. RPAC identifies areas in which it can bring value by increasing the number of major investors, the membership participation percentage, firm participation, average investment size per member and annual dollars raised.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
8 members in addition to the Chair and Vice Chair
The scholarship committee honors both Martin Cummings and Karen Lowe by providing scholarships to high school seniors that reside in Wilson and Trousdale Counties (EMTAR’s geographical jurisdiction) and includes home schooled students, and those that attend private or public schools. The committee identifies ways in which it can increase more value to the existing budgeted amount currently set in place. It establishes the Scholarship rules and how the scholarships awards are divided based on the money available. The committee helps recognize the merit of our community’s young scholars.
